This photo was taken at Mackenzie Trails in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. Please see the EXIF info for technical details. The colors were quite vibrant that evening. Enjoy.

really gorgeous. the colours are perfect. The rocks in the foreground make it a more interesting shot.

Thanks. The colors were pretty vivid last night as the sunlight hit the trees from behind me. I only wish this photo turned out "sharper". I should have set up my tripod. I always have it in the car, but I'm kind of lazy to carry it out and set it up. I'm still going through the other pictures I took that night.

Such a rich shot! The colors are so strong, great job.

gorgeous colours!! wow you have amazing autumns in canada. i'm not too sure about the depth of field...i'd prefer to see the rocks more sharp and the trees a little more blurry. still a beautiful photo.

Common sense is not so common

Love that color saturation and it's obvious you were paying attention to your composition. That lighting on the trees is wonderful and successfully directs your eye to the object of your focus. Nice job, overall. While I love the rocks in the foreground, and their blurriness is effective in further redirecting our attention, the bit of dark green brush on the left side of the image comes off as being rather distracting. Other than that, if you wanted to get everything inside your composition into sharp focus, I'd bust out the tripod and focus on the rocks with the smallest aperture your lens supports. :D Anyway, I must repeat: great image, and keep up the good work. :)

Great comments. I agree with you on the brush on the left side and yes, I should have brought the tripod out... shame on me. I'll have to try a smaller aperture next time... too bad I'll have to wait 'til next year since most of the leaves are gone now. I can't wait to get out and take some shots this winter. We get a lot of the white stuff in the Rockies just west of here...
